CELADON COMELEC

Mostly comprised of 7 or 9 members (outgoing senior Executive Board members + 2 senior Celadon members recommended by the Independent Commission), the Celadon Commission on Elections (COMELEC) shall be the interpreter and executor of all the provisions of the Celadon Electoral Code. The COMELEC shall be responsible for the formulation of rules and regulations concerning the conduct of the campaign and elections. They shall ensure the success of the elections through proper information dissemination and awareness campaign of the elections. Thus, the members of the COMELEC shall remain non-partisan during the entire campaign and election period.

In order to ensure the smooth and successful transition of leadership in the organization, the COMELEC holds discernment seminars in order to give potential candidates a better perspective of what a Celadon Executive Board member entails. To ensure quality standards from the candidates that will eventually be future leaders of Celadon, extensive screening of candidacy requirements is performed as well.

The Celadon COMELEC shall also be responsible of disseminating the platforms and credentials of candidates to the members. This is done through the creation of a website that posts all the stuff a member needs to know about a candidate. This information is also posted in the respective department e-groups. Lastly, a miting de avance will be held a few days before the voting period in order to foster better discernment for the voters.

Truth, Transparency and Credibility… These are the ideals of which Celadon COMELEC stands for. Through this, it is hoped that effective leadership transition will be achieved every year.
